Maulana Asim Awan is a Hafiz of Quran and a practicing Solicitor based in Birmingham. He began his Islamic studies aged 16 and later enrolled at Hijaz College. Here, he pursued both Islamic and secular studies, culminating in a First-Class BA Degree in Islamic Law and Theology as well as an LLB Law Degree via the University of London. Maulana Asim continued his Islamic studies for the next 10 years between 2009 – 2019 with Mufti Abdul Karim Jama’ati (ra) in Birmingham, gaining a licence to teach and covering various texts including Aqeedah, Fiqh, Usul Fiqh, Tafsir, Usul Tafsir, Hadith, Usul Hadith, Arabic Language. He has been teaching various subjects since 2009 including Arabic Grammar, Tafsir, Aqeedah, Hadith, Fiqh, Usul Fiqh as well as texts of Imam Ghazzali (ra). He currently teaches various classes online. He is currently responsible for the overall development and running of the Al Ghazzali Institute.

Maulana Sajid is the son of the founder of the Al Ghazzali Institute, Hazrat Sufi Muhammad Munir (ra). He began his Islamic studies at a young age under the tutelage of his honourable father, and eventually enrolled in Hijaz College, becoming one of the youngest students to enrol on the Dars e Nizami syllabus. He graduated with a BA in Islamic Law and Theology alongside approximately 20 others in the class of 2000 from Hijaz College, having completed 6 years of rigorous study. Maulana Sajid is a qualified Solicitor, practising in Leicester in the area of Crime. He regularly appears in Courts around the country representing his clients. Maulana Sajid has a particular interest in Fiqh and History and has continued his study after his graduation. He is also teaching as part of the Al Ghazzali Institute on the Diploma course.

Born and raised in Leicester, England, Ustadh Bilal began studying Islam part time in 2012 via the Hijaz Diploma Course. After studying basic Islamic knowledge, he continued studying the sacred sciences at a deeper level including Arabic, Fiqh, Hadith, Usul, Aqeedah amongst other subjects, privately with his teachers including Maulana Hafiz Asim Awan (Birmingham) and Sheikh Dr Hafiz Ather Hussain al-Azhari (Leicester). He is currently continuing his studies whilst working full time and teaches on the Al Ghazzali Diploma.

Dr Ashfaq has had an interest in "Islam and Science" since childhood and spent many years in various Turuq and travels to gain knowledge. He went on to complete his education in Biochemistry and submitted his PhD thesis at the University of Nottingham. He moved away from a career in the Academia and Biotech industry to begin studying Islam formally, at a later age, and enrolled in the Dars-e-Nizami syllabus. He has studied Aqeedah, Fiqh, Usul al-Fiqh and Hadith under Mawlana Asim Awan since 2020. Dr Ashfaq lives with his family in Leicester, and spends his time between working, reading and teaching. He continues to study part-time with a focus on Mantiq, Ilm al-kalaam and Arabic grammar reflecting his interests in rational sciences.

Ustadh Muhammad has studied the traditional Islamic sciences for over a decade, completing approximately seven to eight years of ʿĀlim studies at Leicester Central Mosque under Mufti Shakir in December 2022. He subsequently taught full-time at Muhaddis-e-Azam Mission before continuing his studies under Mufti Monawwar Ateeq, studying Ḥadīth, Shamāʾil, ʿAqīdah and Tafsīr. He has remained involved in Islamic teaching and community service, teaching Farḍ ʿAyn and foundational Islamic knowledge, providing occasional madrassah cover, and regularly leading Jumuʿah and ʿĪd prayers and delivering khutbahs and reminders in Leicester. He is currently studying Qurʾān recitation with a Syrian Shaykh, with a particular focus on the riwāyah of Ḥafṣ ʿan ʿĀṣim, while continuing to engage with scholars, traditional Islamic learning and community service alongside his professional commitments.

Maulana Sultan began his studies in 1994 when he enrolled in Hijaz College at the age of 18. He then went on to spend 6 years studying the various sciences of Islam in the Dars e Nizami syllabus and completed his BA in Islamic Law and Theology in 2000. He was also part of the first class to graduate from Hijaz College. Mawlana Sultan also completed his secular studies through an LLB Law Degree whilst at Hijaz College. Since his graduation, Maulana Sultan continued his studies with various teachers, primarily Mufti Abdul Karim Jama’ati, and covered texts in Hadith, Tafsir and Arabic amongst others. He has been teaching various subjects such as Arabic, Hadith, Fiqh and Tafsir from as early as 2000 and has travelled internationally to deliver speeches on Islam.

Ustadh Assad was one of the closest students of Hazrat Sufi Muhammad Munir (ra), the founder of Al Ghazzali Institute. He studied various subjects under the tutelage of Hazrat Sahib (ra) for many years including Fiqh, Hadith and Tasawwuf. He has been teaching at Al Ghazzali since its inception and has experience in teaching children of all ages. He has a particular interest in Fiqh and is also responsible for the day to day administration of the Al Ghazzali Institute in Ilford.

Ustadha Adilah studied Islamic Law and Arabic under her Shaykh Hazrat Sufi Muhammad Munir (ra). She has been teaching at the Al Ghazzali for the past 7 years and has good experience in teaching children and more advanced students Arabic. Ustadha Adilah is a key member of the Al Ghazzali team and is responsible for day to day running and administration of the Al Ghazzali Institute in Ilford.

Ustadha Shah Jahan is a qualified female Scholar of Islam and began studying from an early age. She undertook formal Islamic studies at Jamia Rizviyya Zia ul Uloom in Rawalpindi where she completed the prestigious Dars-e-Nizami syllabus. In the UK she has been engaged in various teaching commitments to students of all ages and has been teaching at Al Ghazzali Institute for the past 7 years. She has taught Usul ul Fiqh, Fiqh, Inheritance and Arabic to an advanced level at Al Ghazzali Institute as well as online throughout the week. Ustadha Shah Jahan is also a qualified teaching assistant, having completed her training in July 2020.

Ustadha Warda completed her Islamic studies at a Madrassah in Ilford from the age of 5 to 12 years and completed the recitation of the Quran many times during this time. She then started the Aalimah classes at Al Ghazzali after becoming a spiritual student of Hazrat Sufi Sahib (ra) at the age of 14 and graduated from Al Ghazzali Institute in April 2019. She has taught the foundation Aalimah courses at a local Islamic centre and also taught younger classes during the past 3 years. She has been given authority to teach by Hazrat Sufi Sahib (ra) and spends her spare time sharing the knowledge she has learnt. Ustadha Warda also has a BSc in Biomedical Science and is currently training to become a Clinical/Biomedical Scientist.
